August 15, 2018 – Pulp producer Paper Excellence has appointed Brian Baarda as its new chief executive officer.
Baarda will take on day-to-day leadership of Paper Excellence based out of the company’s Richmond, B.C. headquarters, effective immediately. Baarda, who holds an Executive MBA from Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, brings a wealth of forest industry experience to Paper Excellence. Over the last two decades, Baarda has held positions in supply chain, finance and operations, including serving as chief operating officer with TimberWest.
“I am incredibly excited to take on the role of CEO furthering the company’s commitment to continued growth and improvement,” said Baarda Brian. “As Paper Excellence has traditionally held a low profile within Canada’s natural resource industry, I look forward to advancing the corporation’s foundation and presence within the industry and communities in which we operate.”
Paper Excellence, which launched in 2010, manufactures NBSK pulp for the paper industry and BCTMP for printing, board and packaging. Over 90 per cent of PEC’s products are exported to Asia, Europe and North America.
